Race Day Logistics

Race the State is as much a logistics race as it is an endurance race. Below we’ve put together some information on how we’d suggest you set up your team or support crew. However, we are by no means the experts so use this as a starting point to figure out how you want to Race the State. If you have questions, we’re here to help you can call the office at 401-619-4840.
The 2017 Race the State Competitor Bible can be downloaded HERE. The Competitor Bible has all the information you need to know regarding transition zones, packet pick up and day of logistics.

Packet Pick Up and Equipment Inspection

  • There are now two days for you to pick up your packet. If there is an extenuating circumstance that will prevent you from picking up your packet at one of the times noted below, please email Julianna@ to discuss your options. We will allow packet pick up on race day on a case by case basis, but you MUST notify us in advance.
  • You will need to provide your paddle board and kayak for inspection to insure they meet the safety requirements of the race.
  • If you are racing as a team, one member of your team can pick up the packet for everyone.

Race Day Transportation
This is an event that spans the entire state of Rhode Island and you will not be returning to the various leg start or finish lines throughout the race. You MUST have a support team in place to assist with collecting equipment after each leg.
Race management will not be transporting any equipment or providing transporting to the start line. However, for an additional fee, we will be offering Support Crew for you and your team. Please make sure to select that option on registration if you think you will need a support crew.
It is imperative you plan your logistics with your support team well in advance of race day. We recommend joining the Facebook group if you want to try and coordinate rides/transport with fellow competitors.
