Want to crush your Kayak time? Register for Kayak Training Session in Newport

Sunday, June 19 10a-12p

Make yourself more competitive by doing the kayak leg right!

Tim Dwyer, the kayaker with the overall fastest time in the 2015 Race the State Kayak leg (with a time of 1:01:25.4) has teamed up with us to offer a training session on June 19th at Kings Park in Newport, Rhode Island exclusively for Race the State competitors.

This is a great opportunity to get tips from a Pro. Tim will get you started with boat choice/setup, training strategies, race course considerations and developing an effective forward stoke.

To register for the Kayak Training Session, please fill out the form below. There will be a $20 fee to participate, which can be paid upon completion of the signup form:

 

Kayak Training Registration

    Although it will be far more beneficial, it is not required that you have a kayak for the training session. If you wish to rent a kayak for the day, please contact the Kayak Centre of RI at 401-295-4400.

#WorkoutWednesday Calf Raises: While most of the power in cycling comes from your quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes, strong calf muscles help transmit that strength to the bike through a smooth pedal stroke. Best of all, calf raises can be done just about anywhere.
