Race the State Returns – 8-7-16!

Race the State Rhode Island Is Back for 2016!

The toughest multi-sport race in Rhode Island is returning for a second edition in 2016! With some slight course changes, options to race solo, or with 2, 3, 4 or 5 teammates, Race the State is a must do race on your 2016 calendar!

Race the State will span 53-miles across Rhode Island and will include five legs of paddling, running, kayaking and cycling. In 2016, competitors will start in Tiverton and finish in Westerly while traveling through 10 beautiful Rhode Island communities. In addition, we are delighted to have BankNewport & OceanPoint Insurance returning as our presenting sponsors!

In a joint statement, BankNewport President & CEO, Sandra J. Pattie and OceanPoint Insurance Agency Inc. President & CEO, Douglas K. Mayhew expressed excitement:

“We’re extremely proud of our co-sponsorship to bring the second edition of Race the State Rhode Island back for our customers and communities to enjoy!  Last year, we marveled at the dedication and perseverance of the athletes who took on the challenge of this unique, multi-sport event, and we’re excited by the momentum that’s already building to see who will compete this year.”

Presidents Pattie and Mayhew continued, “And it’s a fantastic event to watch!  There are so many beautiful locations along the 53 mile course, from Tiverton down to Westerly, for spectators to come out and cheer on the athletes!  We look forward to celebrating another successful Race the State event with our fellow Rhode Islanders!”
